26-17 Apollo

Adoption Process

Meet Apollo, 4 year old male Golden Retriever with a heart of gold.  He is the definition of a “velcro dog.” He loves being close to his people and is happiest when he’s curled up next to you or simply keeping you company throughout the day. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or enjoying time with family, Apollo wants nothing more than to be part of the action. Like many Goldens, Apollo has a unique and amusing quirk that only adds to his charm. He can be quite vocal and will occasionally whimper when he’s excited.  Apollo is well-mannered and enjoyable to take on walks. He does well on a leash and enjoys spending time outdoors exploring with his people. He also has an easygoing nature when it comes to other animals. Apollo gets along well with other dogs and appears to coexist peacefully with cats, making him an excellent candidate for a multi-pet household. When it’s time for fun, Apollo is always ready. One of his favorite activities is playing fetch, and unlike some dogs who view retrieval as optional, Apollo actually brings the ball back! His enthusiasm for play is balanced by an impressive ability to settle down. He can get excited and energetic when engaged in an activity, but once the fun is over, he easily relaxes and returns to his calm, affectionate self.  Apollo is currently working on a funny little habit involving doorways. Rather than rushing outside, he tends to hesitate when it’s time to leave the house. It isn’t that he dislikes the outdoors. In fact, if a person or another dog goes out first, Apollo eagerly follows behind. It seems he simply prefers a little encouragement and enjoys having a companion lead the way. One of Apollo’s most endearing qualities is how well he interacts with children. He is gentle, friendly, and comfortable around kids, making him a wonderful family companion. His patient and loving personality shines through in every interaction. Apollo truly is an amazing dog. His affectionate nature, friendly disposition, moderate energy level, and ability to get along with both people and animals make him a standout companion.
