Gold Rush 2023 – Homecoming!
We celebrated our Gold Rush this year on September 22nd with a theme of Homecoming to welcome home all our adoptees and families. While a little early this year, the weather was a perfect early Fall day and we welcomed over 200 people and almost 70 of our furbuddies. I think I even saw a French Bulldog and Husky mixed in with all our Golden friends.
Besides our store with much new merchandise for sale and all our fun activities and games, we welcomed many of our community partners, some returnees and some new ones. These included:

For those attendees wanting a little snack, Mike’s Streetside Food Truck was there and the food was great. SumTur Amphitheatre in Papillion again was our site and proved to be a great locale for the event. We raffled off two Southwest Airline tickets, gave away a huge bowl of biscuits to the lucky guesser of how many were in a jar (guess of 120 for 121 biscuits was pretty close). Thanks to our friends at Woof and Whiskers for making a dog pretty happy.
Our Masters of Ceremony were once again Kathy Glenn and Curt Bright and they do such a great job entertaining and making us aware of all the activities, plus interviewing all our vendors about their particular business.
We also introduced our brand new alumni tent which is bright orange and can’t be missed. It served as the perfect spot for photos of our canine buddies and their families. Look for the bright orange tent at future GRRIN outreach events. One of the board members said it can be seen from space!
We want to certainly thank our many volunteers who give of their time so willingly for our cause.It would not be possible without them. We look forward to seeing you next Fall at our next Gold Rush event. Look for a specific time in future communications But we certainly look forward to seeing at our many outreach events throughout the year.
