I’m Callie, and everyone says I’m a total sweetheart! I had a great time in foster care with Don and Betsy, but now I’m happy to have a family of my own. Paul and Nancey and their six wonderful kids adopted me. I get lots of hugs and attention in my new home. If anyone forgets to keep petting me, I put my paw over their hand to remind them that I need more loving! I’m on a diet, but my family has a hard time resisting my hopeful face. They had to make a rule about how many treats … Continue reading
Hi, this is Rocky from Kansas City. That’s right, I’ve moved south. After a year with the wonderful people of GRRIN, I have a permanent home. I have a 12 year old boy to play with and take care of me, a dachshund named Sylvia and three cats living with me. The cats aren’t too sure of me, but we are all learning to get along. I love many things: food, walks, having my ears scratched and did I mention food? I have discovered Kongs, boy they are great when they are stuffed with bread! I also can clean your … Continue reading
Hi! My name is Shiloh and I am 3 years old. I moved from my owners’ house because they had to move to an apartment and couldn’t take me with them. But I have found a wonderful new home! My foster care providers adopted me! It was love at first sight! I am lucky to be in such a good home. I was very nervous at first but they were kind and patient with me and now I am officially theirs!
My name is Buck and boy has my life changed since coming to GRRIN. I was rescued from a puppy mill in November, and really did not know how to be a normal dog. I was pretty much scared of everything and everyone. When I got to my foster home I started learning all kinds of new things, like how to sit, lie down, come when called, and shake. I had to learn to walk on carpet and wood floors and how to go to the bathroom outside. My foster mom said I caught on really fast and that I’m … Continue reading
Hi – I’m Rex and I get to live with Michelle and Duke (07-30). I can’t believe Duke is 10 ½ and yet he still keeps up with me – a 6 year old. I get to sleep in a big chair in the living room, go on many walks and hikes, swim in the ponds & lakes (when not frozen), and ride in the truck. But best of all, I get to surround myself with as many tennis balls as I want – I LOVE tennis balls – they are the best – my grandma Dottie got this chuck … Continue reading
I’m Chester and I’m living out my senior years with GRRIN buddy Watson and young’un Bobaloo, My foster parents, Tim & Konda, decided to adopt me when they realized how well I fit into their family. I just spent Christmas with a lot of grandchildren and I was extremely patient with them – in fact, I’m their favorite dog! It might help that I’m a bit hard of hearing. I have a big fenced area where I can run and Konda takes all three of us for walks. I’m in great health so I hope I can give many more … Continue reading
My name is Sophie and I think that I am the luckiest girl alive! I have been a breeder dog up in South Dakota until my owner dropped me off at the Sioux Falls, S.D. Humane Society one day in October. The good people there recognized that I was a good girl and they called GRRIN. I was very, very shy because I had not been around many people. I stayed at a wonderful foster home in Sioux City Iowa and after a month I was adopted by a loving family. I now live in Papillion, Ne. and am enjoying … Continue reading
My name is Kenzie (formerly Daisy) – well, Mackenzie, but that’s only if I’m naughty. I was born on June 1 shortly after my mom, Morgan, was rescued by GRRIN. I was a true answer to prayer after my family’s former Golden died a year prior to my arrival. I live in a house with a lot of activity. My days consist of dozing in my pink lounge chair, playing with my favorite toy (an old broom), and chasing this furry thing that seems to follow me everywhere — my family calls it a “tail.” I enjoy being out in … Continue reading
Hi, we’re Gunner and Bosco and we were rescued by Donna and Steve in March (Gunner) and October (Bosco). We were both given up due to family situations but are now enjoying our new forever homes. Yes homes, plural. We are really lucky because our humans have given us 2 forever homes. Our main forever home here and our second forever home in Colorado. Before Bosco joined us we spent most of the summer hiking in the mountains and swimming in ponds and streams. During this time Mom and Dad decided I needed a companion so enter Bosco. We wrestle … Continue reading
I’m a sweet little guy who was just 8 months old when I came into GRRIN’s care. My previous owners had surrendered me to a shelter when they didn’t have time for me. I used to spend my days and nights alone outside, but that all changed when I arrived in foster care with Judy and Daron. They and their two Goldens made sure I was cuddled and safe 24 hours a day. They housetrained me and taught me not to be afraid when I was left alone. They also helped figure out a little problem I had with urinary … Continue reading
“Hello everyone, my name is Ruby (formerly Rosie) and I am one of ‘the puppies’ that was born after my mom Morgan was rescued. Fortunately, the day I was born, Zach and Kate were with Tim working on adopting off their foster dogs and claimed me right away. I heard later they had wanted a puppy companion for my new two year old brother Riley for quite some time. I was the dominant dog in the litter and so my energy level is a perfect fit with my older brother. And, although he is older and has taught me lots, … Continue reading
Hi, I’m Gage (formerly known as Gus 08-46). Boy, do I have a great story for you. I was surrendered to GRRIN after my Mom got sick and couldn’t take care of me anymore – that part is sad, I know. But after only 2 weeks in foster care I found an awesome new family! I was actually an en’gage’ment (get it, that’s my new name!) gift from my new Dad, Nolan, to my new Mom, Amy. I’ve become a great workout partner for Mom and Dad. I love (and beg for) my morning and evening walks. I’ve lost almost … Continue reading
My name is Hailey and my new family is the best. I used to live in a dog-breeding kennel with two other Goldens and did not know what grass was, let alone the inside of a house. GRRIN rescued me from that life and showed me what it was like to be loved. I needed to have surgery on both of my eyes because I had entropia and it hurt to have my eyes open. I was amazed at what the world really looked like. WOW!! After spending almost two months in foster care, where they taught me how to … Continue reading
Hi! My name is Watson and I think I finally have my forever home. After being adopted my first time in GRRIN by a very nice lady, she fell and hurt herself. I had to go back to a foster home and start over, but my foster mom and dad fell in love with me and decided to adopt me instead. I have acres of fenced yard in which to explore and a wonderful dog buddy, plus my mom walks me every day on a beautiful country road. For an old guy I’m still pretty healthy and am happy to … Continue reading
Life just can’t get any better than this!! I have a brand new family, and they love me SO-O-O much!! I think they better pinch me because I can hardly believe it’s real. I was pretty sad leaving my family when they had to relinquish me because of allergies, but my foster parents loved me a lot, along with their Golden Wiley. Wiley was so patient with me, didn’t hardly bother me at all, so I felt at home right away. Then Leigh and Grant came to visit me one evening and we clicked from the first hello! They are … Continue reading
My name is Lady and I am so lucky to have a new home. I was an outdoor dog on a farm in Nebraska. Most of my time was in a kennel so you can imagine how happy I am to be able to stay indoors all of the time! I was adopted by a family with five daughters. Us girls have to stick together! Oh, and I also have an adopted canine brother who is another GRRIN dog. He is 8 years old and his name is Baxter. We get along very well. My new parents Julie and Tom … Continue reading
Hi my name is Izzy (aka Lady) and my life is a little bit of a mystery. I was found by NHS as a stray, but I soon found myself facing what looked to be a life and death situation. Thankfully I was rescued in the nick of time by my good friends at GRRIN who took me to a great foster home, where I got all kinds of special care. It was a wonderful start to my newest adventure, life with my new adoptive family. They are the best Forever Home in the whole world, they give me kisses … Continue reading
Who can resist me? Well, Bruce and Rebecca couldn’t! I’m Dexter, a 10-month-old rowdy puppy that knows what PLAY means! I came into GRRIN because someone in my prior family had allergies. They really loved me, but it just became too much for them. I stayed at a great foster-home with Tim and his son, Joel. There were other Goldens there! Harry and Elliot taught me the ropes on how to be a dog, and GRRIN foster-dog Einstein PLAYED with me!!! Bruce and Rebecca were the foster-parents of GRRIN dog Knox 08-37. After he was adopted, they decided to adopt … Continue reading
Lucky Dog, I’m a Lucky Dog!” I’M HOME!!! Thank you Mark and Tammy for making me part of your family and giving me a place that I can call HOME… forever! I know there were some concerns that we would find that special family that would adopt a girl like me with hip problems. (I don’t really see it as a problem, I just think it gives me a nice sway when I walk!) I thought I was only going to be with GRRIN foster-parents Mark and Tammy for a little while, as GRRIN looked for the right family to … Continue reading
My name is Knox, and people tell me that I’m a very handsome Golden Retriever. I originally belonged to a great guy that worked a lot of hours and didn’t have enough time to spend with me. He felt guilty, so he advertised on CraigsList for someone to adopt me. The nice folks at GRRIN saw the ad and called. They explained the rescue process, and before long I was on my way into GRRIN! I stayed with a great foster-family. Bruce and Rebecca made sure I got the structure I needed, and Golden Retriever Jazz and Chocolate Lab Millie … Continue reading
I was surrendered because my first family didn’t have enough time to spend with me and knew that the good people at GRRIN would find me a brand new home with a family that could spend more time with me doing fun stuff like: playing fetch, doing tricks for treats (one of my personal favorites) and going on long walks. I have a great new Golden pal named Pepper, and I am going to dog obedience so that I can learn to be the best Golden Retriever ever!
Hi! We’re Rufus and Reese, and we’re almost 2-year-old litter-mates from the great state of Missouri! We were rescued by a very nice couple by the name of Terri and Brad. We had been purchased by a family with kids, but they lost interest in us…so Terri and Brad took us in with the express intention of finding us a great forever-home. When the folks at GRRIN heard about us, they contacted Terri and Brad and asked if we could be in their program. After much research and consideration, we were transferred into GRRIN, where we were fostered by a … Continue reading
My name is Austin and I’m two years old. I’m so excited that I found my forever home with Mike and Carol and they say that I will never have to go to another home again. I’m so spoiled in my new home. I have a 7 month old Golden Doodle named Shaggy who keeps me company. I’m also best buddies with Matt. They take me on at least a three mile walk every day, and they just bought Shaggy and I our own baby pool to play in. We make people laugh as they watch our water productions in … Continue reading
My name is Zeke and I am a three-year-old bundle of energy! I was surrendered due to my owner moving. Luckily I found a fabulous home with Joan and Tom in Lincoln. They have a lot of land to run around on. Sometimes I have so much fun exploring that I don’t want to come back when they call me. I have two other dogs to play with at my new home and we really have fun! I love my bones. I also like playing ball – I just don’t like to bring it back! I have a good appetite … Continue reading
Hi! My name is Bo, and I’m a 1-year-old energetic “puppy”. I started out life with a great family. But when I grew in size (but still had the puppy “zest” for life), most of the family didn’t want me around, and I was relegated to the garage. The Dad felt bad that nobody had the time to give me the love, structure, and exercise that I needed, so he agreed to surrender me to the good folks at GRRIN. Tim and Joel took me into foster-care, and their Goldens Harry and Elliot taught me what it was like to … Continue reading
