I am such a happy girl! Remember me? Abby! I came back to Nebraska to find my new home and it found me! Sheri and Scot are taking great care of me. I also love my new doggie buddy, a little Westie. He keeps me company too. We get along great. He even loved my food so much that they had to start feeding us both the same thing! My arthritis is getting a little better. I am keeping quite active. I am going on lots of walks and have even lost a few pounds. That sure makes a girl … Continue reading
Greetings everyone! My name is Max and I have a special story to tell you. I’m 15-years-young and a couple months ago, found myself needing to find a new home. Luckily, some nice people at GRRIN came to pick me up and I got to go stay with Danielle. She was a great foster mom, but I got lonely during the day while she was at work. I used to live in a college dorm so I was used to a lot of activity. Danielle didn’t like me being lonely, so she let me move to Seth and Erika’s house … Continue reading
(10/04/2015) I’m adopted! Stay tuned for my “Happy Tail!”
RALPHIE!! We are extremely happy to have Wreck it Ralph (as our son Ryder calls him), as part of our family. From the moment we picked him up, he fit right in. We wore him out the first few days of constant activity, and he slept really well those nights! Our daughter Emilia likes giving him big hugs, and putting necklaces on him. He loves to be outside playing in the yard with the kids, fetch mostly. He’s a master at getting tennis balls. I didn’t know dogs climbed ladders? Ralph does. He will follow Emilia up the ladder to … Continue reading
Hi, My name is Ginger and here is my story. I am 11 years old but I just don’t feel that old. I feel like I am 2 or 3 with a lot of energy most of the time. I have been in a foster home for about 5 months with my foster Mom and Dad helping me to learn to be an inside dog, like going to the bathroom in the right place, using some indoor manners, AND getting my seizures under control. They have been so patient with me and at times, I have been a challenge. I … Continue reading
Frequently when a dog enters foster care, they quickly fit into the new home and get along very well with the foster family. In many of those cases, the foster family asks to adopt the dog and GRRIN wholeheartedly supports not having to move a dog again if it’s not needed. This was the case for Miss Lexi! Her previous owner lived in an apartment and Lexi just wasn’t adapting well so the difficult decision was made to surrender Lexi to GRRIN and find her a perfect new home. Lexi immediately bonded with Jill and her son Ethan; after a … Continue reading
It’s been two months since we got Maverick (“Mav”) from GRRIN, and he’s doing great! He suffered some separation anxiety issues at first, but Rod was able to work from home for a couple of weeks and he settled down. He’s really attached to Rod, following him everywhere. (We thought about renaming him Velcro.) Every once in a while he will be extra happy to see us when we get home and do his “happy dance.” Watching 100+ pounds of Golden Retriever wiggle and prance is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. He met the neighborhood flock of … Continue reading
Hi there, Blaize checking back in. Thanks to my Foster mom Michelle, Barb, and all the great folks at GRINN, I’ve found my furever home! Bob and Linde came to visit me in my foster home, and it was love at first sight. Bob and Linde have an older dog, Sophie, and once I moved in we became best buds. Sophie had been a little lonely after her brother Rocky died, but I’m making her feel so happy again! I have lots of energy and love to go for walks with Bob and chase tennis balls in the huge backyard. … Continue reading
(06/13/15) After all of the work she put in and all of the love, Rusty has decided to stay with his foster mom! Check back later to hear how Rusty is doing in his Happy Tail. (05/23/15) Rusty is putting more weight on his leg although still tends to put more weight on the opposite leg with any prolonged standing. Overall much better! He is walking well and playing short games of fetch without much trouble. He and Emmy are wrestling and playing again as well! (03/29/15) Update: Rusty is doing well! He is off pain pills and is trying … Continue reading
HOLLY’S STORY What do “multiple dropped cell phone calls,” “garage doors going up and down on their own,” and “crop circles” have in common? Well, I guess one could say — maybe some supernatural forces, add a little humor, and our newly adopted 11-year-old, “Holly,” formerly known as Angel. GRRIN received a call that there was a Golden in Iowa in need of an immediate home. Her male owner was in hospice and the dog had been left alone for three weeks with only basic care being given to her. Barb and Dennis jumped in their car and met the owner’s Power of … Continue reading
Luna is a lovely two year old Golden with a typical goofy Golden personality! She came into foster care because there were too many dogs in her previous home. Luna’s foster mom quickly fell in love with her and they worked on house manners and leash skills. Once Luna was ready to meet families, Kevin & Pam were thrilled to have the opportunity to see if Luna was a fit for them. A visit with the family and their resident dog, Sadie, went very well and Luna gained a new “furever” home. Sadie and Luna are now best buds, playing … Continue reading
Hi, my name is Cali and I’m 6 years old. My foster mom Liz found me the perfect forever home. I was adopted by John & Deb on November 3, 2014. They said I was the best anniversary present they ever gave to each other! I was pretty shy and apprehensive about everything when I first arrived at my new forever home, but I’m adjusting pretty well. I have two human grandchildren, Kendall & Grady, and they are wonderful to me. Kendall just likes to pet me on my head and I take it all in. Grady, on the other … Continue reading
Greetings here from me, Kiko! It’s been 4 months since GRRIN sent me to live in my new home and it’s been great! I have a lot of room to run at my new house and I love to play with my brother, Rafa, in the yard. We play a lot of games of tag (he chases me while I chase my ball). We are pretty much inseparable. Dad is home all day with us and I love the attention and try to cuddle with him as much as I can. Mom takes me and my brother for daily walks … Continue reading
My name is Abby. I’m 8 years old, and when I was surrendered to the wonderful people at GRRIN, they immediately set me up in a ‘sweet’ foster home until my new mom and dad (Kathy and Lee) adopted me. Everyone calls our match “a great fit.” Now my life is happily continuing with mom, dad, and ‘fur-sister’ Zoe. Speaking of age, I don’t feel 8. Mom and dad say all the time I have a whole lot of energy and act much younger than my age. I run, chase balls, and jump around! All those things are great, but … Continue reading
Hi everyone! I’m Daisy and I’m finally taking a break from the wonderful vacation I’ve been on here in my new home to let the rest of the GRRIN folks know I’m so happy! When my new mom and dad, Bob & Susan, first came to GRRIN they thought they wanted a much younger dog, but then they met ME. Bob grew up with Goldens and must have realized I have that perfect “mature” personality that he remembered. And I really appreciate that this family has older kids (teenaged twins and a smart college student) who treat me with a … Continue reading
This is Buddy checking back in! I am doing great! I finally have my own furever home thanks to GRRIN and my great foster Danielle. I can’t forget all the other people that got me here either. I will never forget you all. I am the happiest guy around here! I am quite the snuggler and I even get to sleep in Kyle’s bed with him. So nice…He is such a great big brother. Our favorite game is to play flashlight tag. He has even shown his friends how good I am at it. We can play for a long … Continue reading
Hi from Rocky! I am so happy hanging out with my new family. I have lots of grandchildren who play with me and I adore them. My life has been very interesting. I was born with part of my front paw missing. It is really deformed but that does not stop me from running in the yard and playing. The only thing is that because I have to hop everywhere, I do get tired more easily than most dogs my age and I cannot walk very far at a time. I am only fifteen months old. So, let me tell … Continue reading
Hi, guys! I’m Bailee. I am so grateful to all the wonderful people at GRRIN for finding me the perfect furever family. When my family decided they wanted to get a dog they initially thought they wanted a younger dog. Then, they met me and it was love at first sight…I can understand why, I am pretty adorable! Everyone says I act a lot younger than five because I have no problem keeping up with dogs half my age. My new favorite game is fetch and I love to play it at the off-leash park until the sun goes down … Continue reading
Sammie was a sweet foster dog from the very beginning when we received her for the first time last year We were told she was 7 yrs. old and terrified of thunderstorms. This was not a problem while here. She stays close people and does just fine. She was a dear foster dog that fit in well with our family, which includes our resident Golden Bob. An adoptive family was found quickly and Sammie was placed with a perfect owner. When this owner sadly needed to return Sammie to GRRIN, she came back to our family as a foster. Again, … Continue reading
Mark and Marley are happily settling into their new home with their new sister Roxie who adores them. A few changes happened right off the bat. Mark received a name upgrade and now goes by “Marco Polo” for his adventurous attitude, and not to be left behind, Marley picked up the middle name “Andme” for his movie star namesake. Although he looks like a movie star, he acts nothing like the dog in the movie! The boys are adapting to the rhythm of a homeschooling family with four kids; it’s full of attention and activity, just what they love and … Continue reading
Hi all! My new name is Lincoln because that’s where my “furever” mom and dad came to adopt me. I was surrendered to a shelter and then GRRIN took me in. GRRIN didn’t know too much about me except that my tail doesn’t wag so maybe that’s why other dogs don’t understand me. That’s ok, though, because at my new home Myron and Cookie have been taking me to school and I get to learn about other dogs and how I can be good friends with them. Myron and Cookie say they are very lucky to have me even though … Continue reading
I am such a happy guy! I have a new home! I have a mom and dad, Greg and Brooke, who take great care of me! I also have two brothers and a sister too! I love it! Garrett and Avery play with me a lot. Emmett is just a little guy and plays too. I have to be careful with him because he is a small guy and I am so big. I don’t want to knock him over you know. I even get to tuck them in at night and wake them in the morning with big dog … Continue reading
This is Jake reporting in! Just like the dog on the t-shirt, “Life is Good!” I wasn’t sure what to expect after my first human went to Hospice. I stayed a few months with a family known by my vet, but it wasn’t working out so well. They called GRRIN, and Jeff and Cherie took me home for a few days. They let me know things can be better. After a vet visit a new family took me home for foster care. Patty and John really seemed to like me. They have another older golden named Maddie who is the queen of … Continue reading
She has such a sweet personality and is so well mannered that she is a hit with everyone. Sadie has playdates with the neighbor children about once a week. They come over or we go across the street to their house for about a half an hour. They play fetch with her, make sure she has plenty of water, or just relax under a tree reading. Also she has playdates with cousins Kierra (a boxer), & Hennesey (a yellow lab). They also have fun playing fetch or just hanging out. She is really getting in shape too. We walk every … Continue reading
It looks like Katie will remain in her GRRIN foster home “furever.” Katie is the perfect fit and we are glad that this sweet senior won’t have to move again. Keep an eye on our Happy Tails page for Katie’s final story.
