Remember me? Heidi? I am just letting everyone know that I am really happy these days. I have found my furever family. Mom and Dad, Danielle and Micah, have made me one of their own. I feel like I have lived here a long time already. I am a regular family member. The twins, Bryn and Kaeta, love me sssooo much!! They snuggle with me all the time. I get lots of love and hugs. Little Gavin, who used to be afraid of us 4 legged furry ones, loves to be licked a lot. That makes me feel really good. … Continue reading
My name is Gracie and I truly believe that I am full of Grace. You see for thirteen years I had a very loving home with kids and other furry resident dogs to play with. I was well cared for by my whole family. But, due to unforeseen circumstances, my family had to move and they were unable to take me. They contacted GRRIN who was more than eager to let me join their warm an loving family even though I had some chronic health issues. This is where the “full-of-Grace” comes in…I went to my foster home to live … Continue reading
Look at me… Tucker… not only am I good looking, but I now have a wonderful, good-looking family. Ken and Pam, and resident Golden Cali, just could not resist my good looks and active, friendly personality. They wanted to take me home immediately so they could introduce me to their family, friends, cats, and bird. I really impressed their family and friends, but the cats and the bird took awhile before they thought I was one cool dude. I am so happy at my new home… I go for long walks, play with kids, have lots of toys to tear … Continue reading
Miracles do happen when you believe…and, I guess that is why they call me Miracle Milo. Many times during my long life of about 14 years, I went searching for the perfect Golden, loving home. But, last July it was very hot and I was very tired, hungry, and thirsty while searching for my Golden home. Fortunately, some very nice people saw me and stopped to pick me up. They gave me water and food and they cared for me. I was taken to NHS where they took the collar off that was embedded into my neck and treated my … Continue reading
Ceasar came quickly into GRRIN as a surrender. I was contacted by Amanda, the foster coordinator, to see if I could take Ceasar on with short notice. I was able and met Ceasar half way in Omaha on a Monday afternoon. What a good boy he was right from the start. Ceasar and I hit it off right away. Our personalities meshed very well. He is very laid back and he would just like to be in sight of his human and if he can lean on me or lay beside me he is very content. When I was given … Continue reading
Cider walked into our lives on May 7th, sat down, and immediately found her place in our home and hearts. She had lots of exploring to do both inside and out. She loves her toys and likes to tease. She understands her commands and chooses to listen to most of them. She is a sweet little girl that makes it easy to be her friend. She loves the outdoors and her favorite thing to do is sit at the doorway of the sliding glass door and look out on the world. She especially loves it if the door is open … Continue reading
When I arrived at my foster home I was a nervous wreck having abruptly left a loving family. My foster dad and the resident dog Lucky quickly became my best friends and the three of us became inseparable. I slowly broke out of my shell and showed everyone what a fun, loving, and sassy personality I have. After a few weeks my foster dad realized how much I loved him and Lucky and they knew loved me just as much back. My foster dad soon became my furever dad. With my new family I enjoy playing fetch, going on walks, … Continue reading
Babe here… Thanks, GRRIN, for finding me such a great home! I love it! I’ve been on a long journey to get here. Kathy is the perfect mom! She is sssoooo good to me!!! Traveling seems to be what I’ve done most of my adult life, so it is nice to settle in to a warm home and be loved. I do like to ride in the car. She takes me to lots of neat places. These places have people to meet…I love it! We go on lots of walks, too. I even know the way to her sister’s house … Continue reading
I didn’t want to be a “foster failure” but the day my daughter and I picked Bella up to foster her, she put her head in my lap and I fell in love. Her sweet personality is the perfect balance for my resident Golden’s sassy temperament. They’ve become inseparable; whether they’re exploring the backyard, playing with each other (or playing with the not so appreciative resident cat) or cuddling at the end of the day. My little girl loves Bella because she never plays too rough and she gives excellent “hugs”. I love how generous she is with her love … Continue reading
Ruby here…just letting everyone know how I’m doing in my new home. My new Mom and Dad took me to PetSmart to get some new stuffed squeaky toys! I have been very careful with them except a few days after I got them I took my pink elephant out into the blizzard and she was missing till the snow melted but we found her! I have shown them all my amazing tricks…sit, lay down, rollover, say hi, and the most amazing…catching snow balls in the air!!! They say I am very good girl and that they are very happy I … Continue reading
Hi there! I am so happy these days! I have found a furever home. I get to run around the yard and house and am starting to lose a little weight. My favorite thing is to be the first one down the stairs. Nobody better get in my way! Going on walks is fun, too. I like to stop and visit when other people are out. I am quite the social guy. My favorite toy is my ball. I have to have the hard balls. I like to tear up soft toys. I love to push my ball under the … Continue reading
Chewie came into our lives just at the right time. He has filled a void, and filled our home with an energy that was missing when our Maggie Mae passed away at the age of 13 on Nov 23rd . We received the call from GRRIN, and were able to take Chewie home on Dec 21st. We learned very quickly his favorite toy is a ball – doesn’t matter what kind. Our grandson Tyson loves to come over and play fetch & “give”. Chewie has settled in completely and learned the rhythm of our household. He has learned to walk … Continue reading
Hi, this is Dan letting you know that the folks at GRRIN finally found the perfect home for me. I loved living with Dick and Judy and their Goldens Brody and Ginger, but my separation anxiety made it hard for them to go places away from home. I’m also afraid of storms, and need someone to keep me company when there is lightning and especially thunder. I’m so happy to have been adopted by Brighton Gardens of Omaha, a wonderful place where there are lots of people to love me and be with me all the time. I even have … Continue reading
Here’s a fun update about Heenooh from his adoptive family: Kevin and I always say, he is one of the best and smartest dogs we have ever had!! He has brought so much joy to us. He goes and does everything with us, and loves the ½ acre of fenced yard where he can explore, watch rabbits, birds, etc. and play. Over the summer we bought a small camper and took him along. We found that he loves the water. He is happiest when he is along side of us no matter where we are. Oh, and did I mention, … Continue reading
From Goldie’s new mom: Goldie and I have been together now for about three months. She is a happy girl, even runs like a girl. Everyone she meets gets plenty of wet kisses. We both love our daily walks together. She has been a great companion and came to me when I needed her the most. Thanks, GRRIN!
Leroy had a seamless transition and seems so happy and content here. He loves a quick walk in the morning before work, then naps on the couch all day long. As soon as I leave he hops up on the couch and sticks his nose up against the window to watch me leave; it breaks my heart every morning!! In the afternoons we take nice long walks and play in the backyard. Sometimes we play dress up (he’s got a pretty sweet lumberjack vest, too) but he’s not as fond of that. He makes a pretty cute Santa though! Leroy is … Continue reading
Swayze came into our home just before Thanksgiving at 9 ½ months old at 80 pounds and is very much loved. He is settling into his permanent home very well. The big adjustment is that he still has a great deal of puppy in him despite looking full grown. He likes to pick up anything and everything (blankets, pillows, socks, jackets, towels, etc.) and carry it around or chew on it if he has time. He is with someone all the time and follows us wherever we go. It took Swayze two weeks to get used to his kennel at … Continue reading
My name is Hank and I am a beautiful 4-year-old Golden who was looking for a new home last fall. I got hooked up with GRRIN and had a temporary home with Dave and his wife and 2 resident Goldens. I had never been a house dog, so you can imagine I had a lot to learn. I really enjoyed my time with them but due to unforeseen circumstances, I needed to find a different place to live and it happened to be around Christmas time. It was the holiday time of year and it was a challenge for the … Continue reading
After spending a few weeks with fosters Whitney, Mike and dog Ellie, I have moved into my new home with Nancy and Helen and their dog Biscuit. I have a big yard with tons of squirrels just waiting to be chased, a pond for wading, and toys to be retrieved. By day I work at trying to charm the cats and then I attend night school where I am the star student in my obedience class. I still have not figured out how to get the cats to play with me. They don’t seem amused by my play bows. Biscuit … Continue reading
Dusty here! I have been having so much fun in my new home! I was so scared when I first moved, but my new sister Tanner really helped me to settle in. She really made me feel safe and comfortable… and I actually taught her how to play! My new parents say that we really make quite a pair. I love carrying around fuzzy toys and the socks that I brought with me, but my very favorite activity is hanging out with my new family and cuddling. As long as someone’s there with me, I’m a happy boy! And since … Continue reading
My, my, my. I am a busy, happy guy. I sure get to be the center of attention! Any time I want it. There is always someone around to give me a belly rub when I want one. The older boys are especially good at that! My favorite thing to do these days is to go on a walk. As soon as someone says the word, I am ready to go. I know they have to use code letters now: W-A-L-K because I am so smart. I can get one from at least 3 of them each day. YAY! My … Continue reading
Hi…it’s me, Sandy. You don’t recognize me? That’s because I got a new make-over. Wow, it has been a busy, but exciting last two months. It all started when my family felt that I was getting just a little too big for my current home and it might be better for me if I went to GRRIN and become a part of their family. So, on June 25, a nice man came to my home. I said goodbye to my current family and then went to my new foster home. I was somewhat overweight, so it was difficult for me … Continue reading
Although he was sad to leave his foster family and foster dog pals, Bear seemed to take to us right away. Especially me (Doris) — he follows me all the time – the bathroom, the closet, the kitchen sink — everywhere! The first week he was here it was difficult for me to get out of the house; he would sense when I was leaving and beat me to the door. We quickly learned to keep the big garage door shut so he couldn’t escape to the outside! Bear likes to dig and curl up in his “foxhole”. He first … Continue reading
Hello there, remember me – Paddington?!? After being in a foster home twice with a super lady, Cathi, and her Irish Setters, I finally found my FUR-EVER HOME!!! It really is a small world, Cathi works with my new Mom, Kris, and so she introduced me to Kris and her Golden, Boston, at a GRRIN Meet-and-Greet to see how we’d all get along. I was on my best behavior and she loved me right away! Boston is a really big Golden and he and I liked each other right from the start! I then went to meet the rest of … Continue reading
Hi again! Remember me? Lucy! I have the perfect new home now. I have a mom and dad, Anthony and Jessica. I even have a little human sister named Sutton. My new furry friend is named Lacey. We play great. She even shares her toys with me. I have learned to play fetch with a special orange bone. That gets my old bones up and moving. The more I move, the better I feel! I love to go on walks. As soon as I see my harness come out, I am ready to go! I have met the neighbor kids. … Continue reading
