I’m Junior and my name says it all! When I came to GRRIN I had a lot to learn, but after living with my foster mom Cindy and her two GRRIN dogs, Leah and Gunner, I learned manners (it’s not good to eat paperback books) and social skills (Gunner lets me know when he’s done playing). I had become quite the escape artist while living with my first owner but Cindy’s fence is dog-proof; if I see a squirrel outside the fence, it’s definitely safe from me! Cindy knew right away that she wanted to keep me but wasn’t sure … Continue reading
I am Banjo, and I am singing a pretty tune these days! I found my forever home and have a new sister to boot (In the picture, I’m on the left and she’s on the right side). Kate, my foster mom was terrific – holding group play dates and taking us for walks. She treated me like a king, and nothing has changed in my forever home! My sister golden is also named Kate, so it was kismet! I like to play fetch, but now, instead of holding the ball, I do return it. However, I wear out my new … Continue reading
Hello, My name is Miss Goldie Pinklesweet! I used to be just plain old Goldie, but that didn’t quite fully explain my personality. You see, I’m one of the sweetest Goldens you’ve ever met. My moms, Ruth and Mary, take real good care of me. Every day I get to go for a long walk. One of my moms likes to brush my teeth every night. I’m not too fond of that, but you should see my smile–dazzling! I went to doggie training and learned a few commands I didn’t know before. My moms like to play games with me … Continue reading
I am Sunny – and bright and happy these days! I had a wonderful stay at my foster mom’s house – had doggie play dates and lots of walks. But now I am in my forever home, and I have Dan and Jami all to myself! Because there are two other dogs in the neighborhood with the name “Sunny” I am going to now be called Gracie. I like that! I feel like a lady of style and “grace” in my new home. Dan works mostly from home, so I am not alone all day. They give me a lot … Continue reading
Shawn & John looked at lots of goldens before meeting me. Saw me at Gold Rush and fell in love. There were other families interested in me, but they asked to be put at the bottom of the list. And here I am! Kinda think it was fate that we all found each other. Previous family let me eat all I wanted. When I came to GRRIN I weighed nearly 100 lbs! I was affectionately called, “Chubby Abby”. It just so happens that my new mom was losing weight, too. We took lots of walks and mom monitored my food. … Continue reading
Hi everyone! I haven’t been with my forever family very long yet, but I can tell I’ll get a lot of love and attention here! They’ve made me feel right at home. I go for walks with all 3 of them – Dave, Julie and their son Joey – and that’s a lot of fun. We even go to the park on the trails which is exciting. I’m learning to play in the house although I’m not used to playing with toys and Joey’s a lot of fun to play outside with! He chases me and we wrestle in the … Continue reading
WOW. Even though I wake up each day to PARADISE, I can’t believe it’s still happening to me. My name is Jasmine. I used to be an agricultural commodity – translation: breeder dog. I spent the first 8 years of my life outside, making puppies. I never knew what it was like to be part of a family. Then my life changed dramatically. I’m not sure why, but one day a nice man came and met me. He was so kind and gentle, I didn’t mind in the least when he took me away. After a brief stop at the … Continue reading
Howdy, GRRIN folks! This is Gizmo and I just wanted to check-in and let you know how I’m doing since I found a new forever home with Cindi, Ed, their great family and other pets. You might recall I came into GRRIN after my previous owner became ill and contacted GRRIN to help me land in a new, wonderful life. I know it was a hard transition for everyone since I’m super happy and certainly loved. It started out great when I was fostered by Terry, Joshua, their kids and resident dog. They took such good care of me and … Continue reading
What a difference a few months make! I’m Millie, and a few months ago I was a stray in Kansas. Now I’m part of a great family! Kristin and Taysha give me love and direction, and Brii (my new big sister) loves to play with me! I was very shy and nervous when the nice man from GRRIN took me out of the Kansas shelter. It was slow-going, but I gradually learned to trust the surroundings in my foster home. It became apparent that I was much more comfortable as long as I had a doggie-companion. One day I met … Continue reading
I have been so busy since I found my furever home about 4 months ago that I almost forgot to write back to my dear friends at GRRIN. As you can see all my hair is growing back in and am quite proud if it . I’m still not quite use to this grooming thing but Dad does his best with his furbaby as he calls me. I have over a 1/2 acre of fenced yard in the country that I play in with my 8 year old golden brother Ralphie. We love chasing rabbits and hanging out together. Ralphie … Continue reading
Grissom was very aptly named; he is socially awkward and eats bugs (fans of the original CSI will know what that means). When he came to us, we were told the original owners had an elaborate ritual for people coming to the house due to him having an issue with meeting new people. As this issue consists of nothing more than an anxious and placating “smile” we simply ignore it and it has nearly disappeared. Keeps service people on their toes though! We also think the original family mistook play fighting for aggression as he doesn’t seem to understand traditional … Continue reading
Hi everyone – Jackson here! I have so much to tell you about my forever home and family. I sure get spoiled at my new house. There is so much love in our home and so much to do. I wear many hats as the newest member of our family. My human brothers, Jack and Ethan are so incredibly busy and full of energy too! Momma says we are a match made in heaven cause we play so much that we tire each other out. My oldest brother, Jack, made me honorary member of his track and flag football teams. … Continue reading
I entered GRRIN as Hope, and let me tell you I got much more than I hoped for. GRRIN gives you a chance to dream big, the biggest dream of all, a forever home. Since I started my life over I started with a new name as well. You can now call me Abby. I came to GRRIN at a low time in my life. A time when I really wasn’t getting the things a young girl like me needs. I had a great time with my foster mom, Misty, and her Golden, Hawkeye. I learned new things, ate well, … Continue reading
Hi Fellow Golden Fans! Khiloh and Kensey here to tell you about our journey and forever home! We had a loving family who we miss very much and due to some unfortunate circumstances they asked GRRIN to help them find a new family for us to live with. We are very happy that GRRIN kept us sisters together; we would have really missed each other. Plus, two Goldens are twice the love! We spent two weeks with a really cool foster family (Scott, his family, and two other dogs). While we had a nice time, we were anxious to find … Continue reading
Duke, Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl… Remember me? Guess what? I found my forever home! I am so lucky! Kylee and Jerry saw me on the website and thought I would be a perfect match for their household. And you know what? I am! I thought it would take a really long time, because I know I am very active, and not every home is built for that. But I was really only in my foster home about 9 weeks. My foster mom, Cathi, took me to Lincoln to meet Kylee and Jerry and their golden, Bear. Bear and I … Continue reading
I am so happy – having had to move out of my family’s home after 9 years, I stayed in a foster home for only 3 weeks. Along came Doris and Corky and we knew we were meant for each other. We first met at the bookstore meet and greet. I also met my future golden sister Ginger at that time. It was very hectic there, but it was the beginning. Then my foster mom took me to their house and I got to see the house and the humongous yard and feel my way around with the three of … Continue reading
Dear Santa, My name is Clyde and I want to thank you for giving me my Christmas wish early this year. Just a few months ago I was found running around the Iowa countryside with another dog, Bonnie. We were picked up by a shelter and surrendered to GRRIN, then I went to a really fun foster home with Cindy, her dad, and their two GRRIN dogs, Leah and Gunner. I loved being able to play all day and have a roof over my head at night, but I still needed a forever home. Unfortunately, I was put on the … Continue reading
I am sooooo lucky! GRRIN took me in with my buddy Clyde as we were romping in the wilds together. I hated to be separated from him, but I get to see him at GRINN events. Meanwhile, we were both placed in phenomenal foster homes. I not only had a wonderful foster mom, but she turned into my forever mom! Heather was afraid of failing fostering 101, but it soon became clear that she was going to, and I am glad she did! Heather welcomed me into her home to foster me, but quickly it became a love-love situation! She … Continue reading
Hi, this is Husker, formerly known as Sully. I am so thankful for great timing! I was rescued from a home that didn’t have enough time for me and ended up in the wonderful GRRIN family. I was then brought to what is known as a foster home with Brent, Tricia and their girls. It’s funny though because when I arrived and looked around, nothing seemed temporary about it! I knew right away that this was the home for me!! We still gave it a few weeks to test the waters and I even tried to show my naughty side … Continue reading
Gilbert & I are the best of friends. We happened upon each other through GRRIN. When Gilbert came to meet me I went to him without hesitation and put my head on his lap. Gilbert says I picked him, not the other way around. It is obvious to me that that we were meant to be together. We have mutual love & respect for each other. We’re just a couple guys that like hanging out together. Gilbert’s the kind of guy I could sit and play checkers with for hours. … Continue reading
I’m Indy and my story starts out kind of sad but has a happy ending. I lived on an acreage with my loving family, but when flood waters destroyed their home, many changes happened in their family, and they couldn’t keep me. They decided surrendering me to GRRIN was the best thing for all of us. I stayed with Tim and Nikki for the first few days. I got along with the other dogs but I had to be kept away from their cat! Then I went to live with Brent, Trisha, Bailey, Emma, Jordan, and their golden, Jake. I … Continue reading
HI there. I’m not sure if you remember me or not, but, my name is Oliver and I am the guy who LOVES TO PLAYYYYY!!!!! I am such a happy guy I just can’t contain myself sometimes. Some might say I have too many endorphins, whatever those are. All I know is that I am so full of love and fun that I just had to have a forever home and a forever family to share my gifts with. Guess what!? I hit the jackpot. A few weeks ago, a great family came to visit me at my foster home. … Continue reading
This is Molly, and I wanted to tell you how happy I am! I lived most of my life outside so it was a real treat to be inside with my foster parents, Everett and Cindy, and of course their Corgie named Hayley. I was very scared at first, and the only thing I really wanted to do was run and hide. I was even scared when someone sneezed! I am thankful to my foster family who were so patient and loving and made me feel safe. Gradually I learned to trust and be part of a family. I had … Continue reading
I am Chase and I am one happy and lucky dude! I have a new family, with a sister Golden named Bailey. My family also consists of Cory and Mandy and their two daughters, who are young, like I am. Mom Mandy and Dad Cory wanted a more active dog, and they got one! Boy were they in for a surprise! I had a rough beginning settling in, but I am finding out the rules, and am working hard to get Bailey to like me. She is a sweetheart, so I am hoping she and I will become fast buddies. … Continue reading
Hi Everyone! Greta Garbo(10-48) here, aka Greta Lilly Garbo, aka Sweet Pea! Well, it’s been a year since I was rescued by the brave, caring, great people at GRRIN. I will always love you for giving me my new life. I want to thank my foster mama and papa, Candie & Bob for taking such good care of me when I came out of the horrible puppy mill in Missouri, and when I went on my 13 day “vacation”, they didn’t give up looking for me. Thank you, if it wasn’t for you all I wouldn’t be here today and … Continue reading
