Happy Tails

Our goal in GRRIN is to get every foster dog to their forever home. Each “Happy Tail” is a reflection of the caring effort shared by volunteers and the families who open up their homes to a rescued Golden Retriever.

11-01 Monty

So, if you ever feel you can’t love again or that you may never be loved again, take heart and listen to my story. I had a wonderful life with my previous owner. We were pals, buddies, and best friends, but it didn’t work out for me to stay, it was just not meant to be. Wow, that was a pretty sad day for my former master and me. I was strong on the outside but, boy, was I sad on the inside. That’s how I got to my GRRIN foster home. Fortunately for me, I got to live with … Continue reading

10-83 Arthur

I found my forever home! I am such a lucky boy!. My foster parents turned into my forever parents! Vern and Karen are so wonderful to me, and my sister Golden, Hera is a really doll! She is a comfort to me and fun to be with. We go for rides in the car together and hang out at home together. Vern and Karen are so good to me – even when I had a seizure, they were right there, taking care of me until I returned to normal. They rushed me to the vet, but luckily all my tests … Continue reading

10-74 Jesse AKA Purple Prince

Hi, Guys, my name is Jesse. Some of you who followed Gracie’s pups might know me as Purple Prince. My forever-home is the coolest! Not only do I have the bestest parents, I have the bestest kid, and the bestest dog-playmate! Lindsey and KC give me great structure and love, Michael loves to play with me, and Ellie Mae is my wrestling partner! I was one of the 11 GoldenDoodle pups from my Mama Gracie. I loved my puppy brothers and sisters, my first humans Tim and Nikki, and my great foster parent Danielle. But when I met my soon-to-be … Continue reading

10-73 Hurley AKA Purple People Eater

Hi my name is Hurley AKA Purple People Eater. I have had a great start in life with my wonderful mom (Gracie) and the best foster parents ever, Tim and Nikki. Now I have found my forever home with Jill and Jason and my best friends Jackson and Jameson. Jackson and I are the best of buds! He helps me burn off my puppy energy by running around with me and playing ball all the time. I remember what Nikki told me about sticking close to that little one, he drops lots of tasty treats. My forever home is amazed … Continue reading

10-66 Chloe AKA Pinkie

Hi, I’m Chloe, and I used to be known as Pinkie. I was one of Gracie’s 11 puppies, and one of only two girls in the litter. My sister and I spent a lot of time keeping the boys in line. One day I met Mike and Rose, and their Golden Retriever, Cooper. It didn’t take but a second for everyone to realize that this was the forever-family for me! Shortly after I arrived in my new digs, we were told that I was a GoldenDoodle! Surprise! I knew there was something French about me…my bark has an accent! Everyone … Continue reading

10-45 Ziggy

Hi everyone, this is Ziggy! Remember me? I joined the GRRIN family a few months ago and hit the jackpot when they set me up to live with my foster dad, Terry, and his two Goldens. It was such a good fit for me because I’m a young and very energetic guy who needed a loving, structured, yet fun home environment. I learned a lot at Terry’s and then, one day, this super-nice couple, Kate and Nolan, stopped by and before I knew it I had a forever home, just like that. It is SO great living with them. We … Continue reading

10-77 Bailey

Hey everyone! This is Bailey checking in and I am really excited to share some great news! My dreams have come true and I am living the good life in my forever home. They appreciate my loving spirit and I appreciate that I am such an important part of the family. I sleep in one boy’s room right beside the bed. Before I came he was a little nervous about being alone but every night since I’ve been here he has slept all through the night in his own room. The baby is learning to walk so I am very … Continue reading

10-46 Angus

Angus became a part of our family on September 18, 2010. We lost our beloved Haley in July 2010 due to cancer. I was devastated. I knew that I wanted another Golden because of their gentle nature. We contacted GRRIN and was allowed to meet Angus at his foster parent’s home (Erika and Seth). We fell in love with the big boy. We don’t know a lot about his coming to GRRIN, but we do know that he had a wonderful foster home. We thank Seth and Erika so very much for allowing us to adopt Angus. As you can … Continue reading

10-40 Max

Hey everyone, this is Max! Or, you’re welcome to refer to me as Major, my nickname courtesy of my awesome forever family. I think I’ve heard them mention something about folks around here having military experience. Not to brag but, as major, I have the highest rank in the household. Talk about being top dog! I’ve sure had a great experience being part of the GRRIN family, too. I was fostered by Terry (with help from his resident Goldens) and it was such a good time. I learned manners, commands and how much fun it was to hang out and … Continue reading

10-43 Chewie

Hi, I’m Chewie. Although I’m 5 years old now I cannot tell a lie, I still live up to my name. I used to live with a nice family. They were a big and busy family and decided that they couldn’t really give me as much attention as I deserved. That’s where my GRRIN family came in, always there when you need a friend. With GRRIN I lived in a foster family where they could get to know me better and help me find my forever home. GRRIN has lived up to their promise to find me a forever home. … Continue reading

10-57 Amber HE

This is Amber from Salina, KS. I am attaching a few pictures of me in my new home. I’m doing great and have had no problems adjusting to becoming a KSU Wildcat VS a Husker! Beamer and I are the best of friends and our family usually has to scoot us over to have a place on the family room sofa! It’s not unusual to find me, Beamer and Biscuit (the cat who think she’s a dog), all sleeping together. I’m a gentle dog and my parent’s 20 mo old granddaughter is always giving me pats and kisses when she … Continue reading

10-70 Batman

PHEW! It was quite a journey, but I finally ended up navigating my way into my forever-home. I started out life as the “runt” in my Mama Gracie’s litter of 11 puppies. I was called Batman because I was very tiny at birth with little black ears sticking straight out. Good thing my foster parents Tim and Nikki were always there for me because it was touch-and-go for the first three weeks of my life. For some reason I didn’t have much of an appetite and found it hard to gain weight. Tim spent many sleepless nights working to get … Continue reading

10-72 Brinkley AKA Orange Julius

Hey there, my name is Brinkley. I’ve been compared to Tigger because I love to bounce and jump with joy. I can’t help it – I’m just happy! Why? Because I’m the luckiest pup around! Not only did I have a great Mom (Gracie), and wonderful foster parents (Tim and Nikki), but I have a fantastic forever-home with Michelle, Donald, and my best friend Ashley! My job is to provide the entertainment. I’m so smart that I took the usual puppy game of toilet-paper theft to a new level by weaving it in and out of the chair legs in … Continue reading

10-69 Cooper AKA Red Robin

Today’s mission (and I choose to accept it): Chase the ball and bring it back to Margie. Got bored. New mission: Chew on my toy. Got bored. New mission: Chew tassels off of loafers. Got bored. New mission: Cuddle with Lester and snooze. I’m Cooper, and I have a lot of missions. Gracie was a great Mama, Tim and Nikki were great foster parents, and the bond that I have with my forever-family gets stronger every day. I’m a very smart boy – I know some basic commands, I’m a star student in puppy class, I’m completely housetrained, and I … Continue reading

10-67 Odie AKA Blue Boy

Puppy? That’s me! Odie? Me, again. Gracie? That’s my Mom. Tim and Nikki? They’re my caring foster parents. Sarah and Dave? They’re my loving forever-parents. Michele? She’s my big sister. Smart? That’s how everybody describes me. Socks? They’re fun to find. Mexican food? Yummy! Playing fetch? Let’s go! Snow? A lot of fun – I like putting my head into it like an Ostrich. My communications are short and sweet, just like me (well…the short part is for the time-being). I love everything about my life. It’s good to be me! Decked out for the holidays! Snoozing with Michele.

10-18 Odie

My adoptive Dad tells me that I’m now an official ambassador for GRRIN, so I have to be on my best behavior as I tell you my story. I started my life quite far from here. I never really knew what it was like to run and jump like a puppy because of discomfort in my hind leg. My family loved me very much, but fell on some hard times. A Good Samaritan helped me find my way into GRRIN. I went to live with Foster Parents Tim and Nikki while Tim assessed my temperament. He noticed that I was … Continue reading

10-71 Danny AKA Green Machine

Can I be in charge today? Darn. I’ll ask again tomorrow. Hi, there. My name is Danny. I was one of the 11 pups that Mama Gracie delivered. back when my name was Green Machine. I’ve been told that I’m stubborn, but it’s just being headstrong. I was in charge of keeping things in order with the puppy pack. If somebody got out of line, I’d start a round of Puppy Wrestlemania to let them know who’s boss. Unfortunately that Brownie pup usually won, so I let him think that he was in charge. ACTUALLY – I’m pretty even-tempered. I’ve … Continue reading

10-64 Lucy AKA Silverback

I’m Lucy, but I used to be known as Silverback. I was in the minority in my litter of 11 puppies – I was one of only two girls. But I stood my ground with all those boys! I’ve always had a spunky personality (I was born hollering), but I’m also very smart and pick up new things quickly. Life in the puppy pack was tough at first, but Mama Gracie and Foster Parents Tim and Nikki worked very hard to get us ready for the world. One day Mike and Ellen stopped by to meet us. I turned on … Continue reading

10-68 Murphy AKA Brownie

I’m Murphy. My name used to be Brownie, but I think my new name sounds better. As you probably know, I’m one of the puppies that were born from my Mama Gracie. My life has changed a lot since I first entered the world. Tim and Nikki were my foster parents, and they helped my Mama make sure that we were getting all that we needed – food, water, training, and PLAY! We played a lot. I had the distinction of weighing slightly more than my brothers and sisters, so I hold the Puppy Wrestling championship crown! It took awhile … Continue reading

10-65 Stewart AKA No Mark

My name is Stewart, but some of you might know me as “No Mark”. I’m one of the 11 puppies that Gracie delivered on October 2nd. Our entry into the world was a bit of a struggle, but we soon settled down into a regular routine with our Mama. Foster parents Tim and Nikki were always nearby to make sure we were safe, socialized and acclimated with our surroundings. We grew and played and ate and chewed our way to the time that we were ready to find our forever-home. Steve, Vicki and Heather fell in love with our website … Continue reading

10-58 Charlie

Hi, I’m Charlie and I’m sooo happy in my new home. My family surrendered me to GRRIN because they were moving and didn’t have enough time to spend with me. I loved my foster family, and I had lots of fun with their kids, their dog Jake and getting lots of attention. They even helped me start my diet, and I’m losing weight and becoming healthier. Pretty soon I met my new family and instantly loved their kids. I knew that I would be so happy and loved and receive lots of attention from everyone, and make lots of new … Continue reading

10-55 Bear

Hi, I’m Bear and I want to tell you about my early Christmas present! Do you have just a minute? Good! Well, the story starts when my original owners gave me up for adoption because they had these little humans come along. I guess they were worried I’d knock them down or something. That’s really weird because I love children. In fact, my foster mom and dad have a little one and we got along great. Anyway, they put me outside….all by myself!! I hated that because I used to get to be in the house all of the time. … Continue reading

10-76 Louis (formerly Clyde)

Happy holidays to me! I found my forever home! My foster parents, Jim and Diane, decided that I was a perfect fit for their family and a perfect friend for their resident Golden, Bo. Bo and I run and play inside and out all day long and don’t even tire each other out! I also have a new brother and 2 sisters whom I adore! This is a very active family and it suits me just fine! I am learning indoor manners, with the help of Bo, as I follow his lead when possible. I no longer jump all over … Continue reading

10-16 Sawyer (formerly Scooby)

Sawyer has brought our family much joy. We adopted him in June 2010. He has adjusted well to our routine. Although the 4 cats in the house had some adjusting to do. Sawyer keeps us on an active schedule. He was about 2 years old when we adopted him. Dave has been working with Sawyer on shaking hands and retrieving the ball. The boys get a laugh out of the “hot laps” that Sawyer runs in our backyard when he is excited. We are on the second round of training classes, and Sawyer is doing great. 10-59 Tucker

Hi, all! I’m Tucker, a very easy going guy! My family surrendered me because one of their cats refused to see that I was “top dog” in the house (I lived with 4 cats)! I moved in with a great foster family, Matt, Melanie, Cameron, Paige, and their 2 resident goldens, Wrigley and Hutch (GRRIN dog). I turned on the charm and they quickly fell and in love with me! I enjoyed playing fetch in the backyard with the girls and my dog buddies. I always followed Melanie around just so she wouldn’t get lost in that big house! I … Continue reading
